DAC Mile: For the love of shooting
Sometimes it’s great to pick up the camera and go shoot for the sake of shooting and remind yourself why you started this creative outlet all those years ago. I recently challenged myself to shoot more athletics, a sport I have grown to really enjoy from a spectator perspective through friends who compete, people I have worked with in the past or the Olympic effect of being inspired by the athletes. I also really enjoy shooting the sport be it the challenge of the pace, light conditions and trying to find a unique perspective.
On Tuesday 19th November I went down to Doncaster Athletics Club for their DAC Mile event with a couple of other photographers Ben (Lighknife.jpg) and Joe, the event had a 100 yard Victorian Finals, 5000m races and mens and women’s mile race, the event didn’t disappoint with some great racing (particularly the mens mile race with a super close finish) and all round good vibe.
